Wilmington, NC – The Hammerheads will begin preparing for their quest for a USL Second Division 2009 Championship with two preseason games against teams of the USL First Division followed by the Hammerheads Fan Fest event. 
The Hammerheads will begin the preseason with a game on the road at the Charleston Battery of USL1 on April 4th. The Hammerheads will then host the Carolina Railhawks also of the USL1 on Tuesday April 14th at Legion Stadium. This game is set to kickoff at 7:00pm.
The Hammerheads will then host a fan fest event on Sunday April 19th at Legion Stadium. This event will include appearances by the Hammerheads, UNCW, Duke, and UNC-Chapel Hill. This four team format event will include each team playing two games and each game will include two 30 minute halves. This event is set to kickoff at 1:00pm. The following schedule will be followed:
1:00pm: Wilmington Hammerheads v. UNC
2:15pm: Duke v. UNCW
3:30pm: Wilmington Hammerheads v. Duke
4:45pm: UNCW v. UNC
