The Hammerheads will host the Carolina Railhawks on Tuesday night for their first game at Legion Stadium in 2009. The exhibition game will kickoff at 7:00pm.
The Hammerheads will use this game to help prepare them for their season opener on April 25th in Charlotte. The Hammerheads have been in preseason camp since March 22nd and currently have 18 players signed to contracts for the 2009 season.
Fans will see some familiar faces return to Legion Stadium after a few years of absence from the Hammerheads jersey. This includes forward Chris Bagley, defender Tim Karalexis and midfielder Kenny Bundy.
Chris Bagley commented “"Playing the Railhawks is a great test for us and will be a good measuring stick to see where we are at for preparing for our first league game in two weeks. Carolina has completed their preseason and opened up with a win over Minnesota this past Saturday. This will be our first game where we have all of our signed players in and can continue to build on our team chemistry. It will also be great for the fans to come out and see a great game with plenty of new faces."
New faces in Hammerheads jersey on Tuesday night will include forward Jamie Watson and midfielder Steven Curfman as well as many others. Watson comes to the Hammerheads from FC Dallas of the MLS while Curfman will be facing his former team when he takes the field Tuesday.
The Legion Stadium ticket office will open at 5:30pm on Tuesday night and tickets may be purchased for $5.
