The Hammerheads have come to agreements with six more players for the 2009 season. The Hammerheads have signed returning midfielder Trey Alexander as well as newcomers Jamie Franks, Colin Falvey, Mark Briggs, Graham Tatters and Calum Angus. 
Midfielder Trey Alexander made 18 appearances for the Hammerheads in 2008. During those appearances he recorded six goals and one assist. Prior to coming to the Hammerheads Alexander had stints with the Richmond Kickers, Charleston Battery and Cincinnati Kings. Alexander attended Western Kentucky University.
Midfielder Jamie Franks joins the Hammerheads after a stand out career at Wake Forest. While at Wake Forest he made 93 appearances for the Demon Deacons, scoring seven goals and recording 20 assist. Franks was part of the Wake Forest 2007 National Championship team as well as was drafted by Chivas USA in the 4th round of the MLS draft.
Colin Falvey will be a solid part of the 2009 Hammerheads defense. Falvey comes to the Hammerheads after spending last season playing for Otago United FC in New Zealand. Falvey is from Cork City, Ireland and has played professionally in Ireland, England, and New Zealand.
Mark Briggs joins the Hammerheads midfield this season. Briggs played last season with the Kalamazoo Outrage of the Premier Development League. Briggs a native of Wolverhampton, England and is expected to be a vital part of the Hammerheads midfield.
Graham Tatters is a native of Elgin, Scotland and comes to the Hammerheads from UNC Charlotte. At UNCC Tatters was Names MVP in 2007 as well as team captain. Tatters will ad depth to the Hammerheads defense.
Also, joining the defense will be Calum Angus from Portsmouth, England. Angus played at St. Louis University from 2005-2008 where he made 60 appearances, scored seven goals, and had three assist. Prior to coming to the United States he was part of the Portsmouth Youth Academy in England.
The Hammerheads open the 2009 season this Saturday, April 25th at Charlotte. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 2:00pm.
