Hammerheads top Charlotte 6-3

The Hammerheads kicked off against the Charlotte Eagles tonight at 8pm in Charlotte. The Hammerheads came out with a 6-3 victory.

Charlotte was on the board first with a goal in the 1st minute. The Hammerheads then answered in the 24th minute with a goal by Jeritt Thayer, he was assisted by Kenny Bundy. The second half started with the score 1-1 and then the Hammerheads recorded three goals by Kenny Bundy, Chris Bagley and Steven Curfman. Charlotte then answered in the 81st minute to make the score 4-2. Jamie Watson then scores on a PK in the 88th minute as well as records a goal in the 90th. Charlotte then finlalizes the score with a goal in the 90th to make the final score 6-3.

The Hammerheads now return home for a few days before they head on a ten day road trip. The team will leave Thursday for a week in Bermuda where they will face the Bermuda Hogges on May 15th and 17th. The Hammerheads will then play two additional exhibition games against the Bermuda U23 National Team. The team will then depart Bermuda for Massachusetts where they are set to play the Western Mass Pioneers at 7:30pm on May 22nd.

The Hammerheads finally return to Legion Stadium on May 30th when they host the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at 7:00pm.
