Hammerheads drop game 2-1 to Crystal Palace

The Hammerheads dropped a road match Saturday evening to Crystal Palace with a final score of 2-1 in front of a crowd of 1,673.

The Hammerheads were down 1-0 at half after Crystal Palace’s Machel Milwood recorded a goal in the 27th minute. Crystal Palace would then come out of half time a put another ball in the back of the net in the 53rd minute to make the score 2-0. But, the Hammerheads never gave up and Jyler Noviello scored in the 87th minute off a ball from John Devae to make the final score 2-1.

The Hammerheads now head to Raleigh for a the second round of the US Open Cup. The Hammerheads are scheduled to kickoff against the Carolina Railhawks on Tuesday night at 7:00pm at Wake Med Soccer Park. The Hammerheads will then head back to Maryland next weekend for a Sunday afternoon match against Real Maryland. This will be the first time the Hammerheads will face Real Maryland’s Head Coach Anthony Hudson whom spent two seasons as a player and assistant coach with the Hammerheads in 2007 and 2008.
